About the event
NirmanCAD – A Make-in-India Hackathon is an exciting design challenge organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) at Shree Venkateshwara Hi‑Tech Engineering College. The event brings together creative engineering minds to design innovative and practical mechanical solutions using CAD tools.
Participants will work in teams to develop cost-effective and impactful designs addressing real-world challenges. The hackathon focuses on innovation aligned with the Make-in-India vision, encouraging students to build solutions that can benefit society and industry.
🔧 Challenge Tracks
Participants can design solutions in areas such as:
Low-cost assistive devices for elderly people or children
Affordable farm tools suitable for Indian agriculture
Innovative mechanical systems to reduce power consumption
Cost-effective safety systems for hazardous material handling
👨🎓 Eligibility
Open to B.E. Engineering students from all departments
All years (I, II, III, IV) are eligible
Team size: Maximum 4 members
🏆 Prizes
1st Prize: ₹12,000 + Certificate
2nd Prize: ₹8,000 + Certificate
3rd Prize: ₹5,000 + Certificate

📝 Event Description
NirmanCAD is a design-based hackathon that challenges engineering students to develop innovative mechanical solutions using CAD tools. Participants will work in teams to create practical, cost-effective designs that address real-world problems aligned with the Make-in-India vision. The event encourages creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities in mechanical design and product development.
🎯 Challenge Tracks
Participants can choose any one of the following design challenges:
Design a low-cost assistive solution for elderly people or children.
Develop an affordable farm tool suitable for Indian agricultural needs.
Create an innovative mechanical system to reduce power consumption.
Design a cost-effective safety system for hazardous material handling.
Meet the organizer
Shree Venkateshwara Hi-tech Engineering College (SVHEC) is approved by AICTE and Affiliated to Anna University, Tamil Nadu. The Institution provides various facilities for successful implementation of curriculum to meet the vision, mission, objectives and goals. The Institution follows the curriculum and syllabi provided by the Anna University and Curriculum implementation is effectively planned based on periodic meeting conducted by the principal with all the head of the departments. For effective translation of the curriculum, faculties are encouraged to participate in Faculty Development Programme, workshops and seminars conducted by various institutions and corporate. The Institution invites experts from industry and reputed Institutions for organizing different skill development training programme for the benefit of students and faculty. The SVHEC offers ample academic flexibility to its students availing opportunities in choosing electives, and value added courses for the benefit of students and to mould them to suit industry needs. The Development of curriculum enrichment, SVHEC makes several efforts by communicating with industries through MoUs and getting feedback from the experts visiting the institution to keep abreast of developments. The feedback, needs for improvement of curricula, are sought and obtained from the alumni, parents / guardians, academic peers of SVHEC and other Institutions. All these feedbacks are analyzed and recommended to the university to consider during the update sessions.
