 rged as a replacement material for conventional metallic materials as they
  have a better specific strength and stiffness and can be easily tailored 
 to the design requirements. Hence\, the composite materials find their app
 lications in various fields such as Aeronautical\, Mechanical\, Automobile
 \, Marine Engineering\, etc. Inspiteof the wide range of applications of c
 omposites\, the mechanical behaviour of these materials is yet to be chara
 cterized accurately. Hence\, the intention of this workshop is to expose t
 he challenges in using the composite materials in various applications\, a
 s the loading in practical scenario is complex. This course will cover the
  various types of composites and the challenges involved in experimental c
 haracterization composite materials.</p>
