SUMMARY:Two Day ONLINE National Workshop on Future Proof Power Electronic S
ystems: Applications in Energy Systems 2022
LOCATION:Online
DESCRIPTION:<p>Increasing sustainability and environmental attention\, supp
orting regulatory frameworks\, and new technology developments in the powe
r sector are making electricity the backbone of the future energy system.
Power electronics are increasingly being used in novel applications\, such
as electronic power distribution systems\, also known as active distribut
ion networks or smart grids\, as a result of the quick advancements in sem
iconductor and packaging technologies as well as the creation of new power
converter topologies. Such concepts could be utilized for a single buildi
ng or entire district\, depending on the power scale\, enabling greater sh
ares of distributed energy generation and storage\, demand-side efficiency
\, and energy trading operations. This workshop will bring out a new resea
rch perspective on the application of power electronics to energy systems<
