 g a series of webinars as part of its pre-fest and is proud to present its
  next keynote speaker\, Dr. William Daniel Phillips.<br />\n<br />\nDr. Wi
 lliam Phillips developed revolutionary ways to slow down atoms and molecul
 es\, which otherwise move at very high speeds in air. Using Laser Light an
 d photon's energy for Doppler Effects\, he successfully cooled the atoms t
 o very low temperatures to effectively trap them and conduct further studi
 es. This outstanding work won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in the year 1
 997. He is also a member of the USA Science and Engineering Festival's Adv
 isory Board.</p>
