DESCRIPTION:<p>Spandan is the annual media fest organised by the students o
 f Vivekananda School of Journalism and Mass Communication (VSJMC) as a par
 t of their 5th Semester curriculum. However\, the relevance of Spandan goe
 s beyond the syllabi. Apart from the knowledge of event management\, Spand
 an being a circuit event also provides the insights of working and know-ho
 ws of the media industry as well as the diverse aspects of media studies t
 o all the students.<br />\n<br />\nThe fest appropriately named Spandan wh
 ich means 'Heartbeat' in Sanskrit\, brings together hundreds of students a
 nd teachers of Vivekananda School of Journalism and Mass Communication as 
 a workforce with the basic objective of showcasing a successful event.<br 
 />\n<br />\nThe inception of Spandan dates back to 2003 with the primary m
 otive of providing a platform of opportunities\, exposure and practical le
 arning for all the students. Spandan has witnessed a plethora of events wi
 th a myriad of participations on local as well as national level all throu
 gh these years. Eminent media personalities have also graced Spandan with 
 their presence and have professionally motivated the students.<br />\n<br 
 />\nOver the years\, Spandan has witnessed a tremendous growth in terms of
  participation and support and garnered support through several sponsorshi
 ps.<br />\nThis November\, Spandan will host 20 events within a span of th
 ree days at the VIPS campus. Spandan’15 will be an enriching experience 
 with varied events including media interactions\, film screenings\, litera
 ry and cultural events\; competitive and non- competitive. With an aim to 
 achieve 1000+ participants\, 100+ colleges and a footfall of over 10\,000\
 , Spandan 2015 promises to be a media spectacle. It will also be hosting a
  second edition of Cinephile\, its annual international film festival.<br 
 />\nOver the years\, Spandan has shaped careers and has evolved as a platf
 orm for media exposure and interface. Recognising this potential\, Spandan
  has drawn the attention of various sponsors\, complimenting the functioni
 ng of the fest.</p>
