DESCRIPTION:<p>Concrete is a composite material consists of cement\, fine a
 nd coarse aggregates. The binder medium involves a mixture of hydraulic ce
 ment\, water and several admixtures. Cement when it reacts with water sets
  and hardens which leads to the formation of a solid matrix. Microstructur
 e of the concrete will determine strength\, stiffness\, toughness resistan
 ce to moisture\, ionic transport and reinforcement steel corrosion of conc
 rete. Therefore knowing the microstructure and its characterization is imp
 ortant in making the next generation of sustainable binders. Microanalysis
  of concrete is a non-trivial task and needs the sophisticated techniques 
 including\, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)\, 3-D Tomography\, Mercury 
 Intrusion Porosimetry (MIP) etc.\,<br />\nThis is a crutial program aimed 
 for faculties with limited experience in material characterization\, under
 graduate and post graduate students and research scholars in civil enginee
 ring. Practicing civil engineers and industry researchers will also find t
 his course very helpful during their analysis.</p>
