Objective of the Workshop
\nThe application of sustaina bility principles at the system level begins with the supply chain. Closed -loop systems approaches are followed in the planning and management of so urcing\, procurement\, manufacturing and logistics activities. Sustainabil ity in the supply chain is a holistic perspective of supply chain processe s and technologies that go beyond the focus of delivery\, inventory and tr aditional views of cost. This emerging philosophy is based on the principl e that socially responsible products and practices are not only good for t he environment but are important for long-term profitability. Corporate im ages are subjected to their sustainability report\, which showcases their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in handling the triple bottom line ( TBL) of sustainable development by establishing internal and external gree n strategies across their supply chain network. Sustainable supply chain m anagement provides improved operational efficiency and waste reduction acr oss the supply chain considering carbon footprint reduction. This workshop will thus aim at catering the budding researchers\, industrialists\, and students with a wide knowledge on Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSC M).
