DESCRIPTION:<p>ABOUT THE SEMINAR<br />\nThe structural Integrity of the Civ
 il Engineering infrastructures is essential for the safety\, productivity 
 and quality of life of the society. This integrity is often a concern due 
 to the ageing of the infrastructure\, the occurrence of earthquake\, expos
 ure to wind and ocean waves\, soil movement\, excessive loading\, temperat
 ure excursions and terrorism. Thus there is need for monitoring damage non
 -destructively\, so that timely repair or retirement of structures takes p
 lace. Structural health monitoring is valuable for structures for the purp
 ose of hazard mitigation. An innovative mature sensing technology using sm
 art materials is the current trend in structural health monitoring to achi
 eve these goals. Hence knowledge and expertise in the modern trends of sma
 rt materials are necessary. Hence the proposed seminar will provide the cu
 tting edge aspects of Diagnosis of Structures through NDT. The purpose of 
 the seminar is to gather scientists\, researchers from various parts of th
 e nation on a common platform to share their views and disseminate the inf
 ormation.</p>
