Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) based illumination systems are solid state\, robust\, energy efficient and durable than its counterparts like incandescent bulbs and Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL). LED lights ca n be designed to emit light in the required colour\, suitable for any envi ronment to provide a conducive and pleasant atmosphere. LED lights are eco friendly and so\, one of the best solutions for the global warming proble m\, which is a threat for nature. The still evolving LED technology have p aved way for more rugged and improved energy efficient LED lights with bet ter luminance at lower wattage for almost all industrial\, commercial\, an d domestic applications. This workshop will expose the students on the new trends taking place in the electrical illumination systems\, provide hand s-on training to the students to evaluate the theoretical knowledge they g ained in the classroom and train them to the effective power management. T he skill they acquire through this workshop will enhance their employabili ty prospects apart from providing an opportunity to become an entrepreneur .
