In recent years\, various nanomaterials have emerged as an e xciting tool in cancer theranostic applications due to their multifunction al property and intrinsic molecular property aiding effective diagnosis\, imaging\, and successful therapy. However\, chemically synthesized nanopar ticles have several issues related to the cost\, toxicity and effectivenes s. In this context\, bio-inspired nanoparticles (NPs) held edges over conv entionally synthesized nanoparticles due to their low cost\, easy synthesi s and low toxicity. In this present review article\, a detailed overview o f the cancer theranostics applications of various bio-inspired has been pr ovided. This includes the recent examples of liposomes\, lipid nanoparticl es\, protein nanoparticles\, inorganic nanoparticles\, and viral nanoparti cles. Finally\, challenges and the future scopes of these NPs in cancer th erapy and diagnostics applications are highlighted.
