Description:
Are you a techno-geek who just can’t get enough of engineering? Do you have a path-breaking
idea that can change the way we understand and perce ive our physical world? Have you studied
an existing industrial or t echnical procedure/operation and figured out some hitherto unknown
s ystem/idea to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the status-quo to day? Are you
waiting for a launch pad to bring them to light? If yes \, karuvi 2k14 provides the perfect
opportunity to give life to your dreams and let the tech world talk about it.
\nRules and R
egulations:
\n
\n1. Only 2 authors per paper.
2. The presentation must be supported by PowerPoint slides. Number of slides is 10-15.
3. Time limit for presentation is 7-10 minutes.
4. P articipants must also carry a hard copy.
5. Proper references must b e mentioned in the hard copy.
6. The full length papers must be subm itted in IEEE format and should not exceed 6 pages.
7. The soft copy and hard copy must be submitted an hour before the start of the event.
8. Font size should be 30 for headings and 24 for the matter.
9. No colourful or flashy fonts are to be used.
10. The paper must be original and copying the paper entirely from the internet must be
pr evented.
11. New ideas and research work are encouraged.

Eligibility:
All UG students are eligible to participate.
Three racers are all owed in a team.
Racers representing a particular college/institution must
belong to it.
Bot's specification:
General:-
Lego robots/ready made toys/usage of lego parts are not
allowed.
The Robots participating should be fit within a box of
dimension s (250*250*250) mm
It should be 5 kg weight or lesser. [Including ba ttery]
Both wired and wireless robots are allowed.
If it is wi red then wire must be long enough.
Power supply:-
Combustible gases\, chemicals\, rockets\, fuel and
other combustion process are strictly prohibited.
Batteries like dry cell\, lead acid etc. are on ly allowed.
Participants will be allowed to use maximum on board
24 V DC power supply. Use of heavy equipment like
compressors is banned.
Arena:
The width of the tracks is 400 mm.
The En tire game field is divided into no. of sub zones.
Each zones contain s various hurdles which are as follows:
Bridge
Oil passage
Speed breakers
Sand
See-saw etc.
Slopes will be maint ained angles in the range of 30
degree.
Safety:
The mach ines you build will be first checked for size and
safety.
The machine should not cause any electrical power
breakdowns.
The Robots must not contain any combustible\, corrosive
or other any dan gerous materials.
Any Robots whose strategy or operation is consider ed
dangerous can be disqualified by the judges at their
discre tion:
Rules and Regulations:
The Robot is not allowed to go ou t of the track or
sub zone. If it goes out of track or sub zone acco rdingly
violations will be considered and points will be deducted.
The Robots are not allowed to leave their parts on the
arena. I n case some parts of the machine falls on the
arena\, the penalty wi ll be based on judge’s discretion.
During game the participants ar e not allowed to enter
the field.
Decisions taken by the judge s would be final and would
not be challenged.
The Game field i s divided into no. of sub zones and each
zone has some points.
If the participants is not able to complete the game field
then poi nts will be given on the basis of no. of sub zones
completed.
Things to Remember:
Participants should carry their ID card with the m.
The time limit will be declared by the coordination on
the spot.
Sketch of the arena will be sent to the participants
bef ore three days of the race.
