SUMMARY:iTech Summit 2026
LOCATION:PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research\, Coimbatore
DESCRIPTION:<p>PSG iTech’s Multi-Category Hackathon is here!<br />\nHave
a project idea but your problem statement isn’t listed in other hackatho
ns? No worries — we accept problem statements from any domain and encour
 age student innovation.<br />\n<br />\nRegistration - FREE<br />\nPrize Po
 ol: ₹60\,000 + spotlight awards &amp\; participation certificates<br />\
 n<br />\nProblem Statement 1: AI Generated Image Detection System<br />\n<
br />\nDescription:<br />\n<br />\nWith the rapid growth of Artificial Int
elligence tools\, it has become easy to generate or manipulate images that
look very realistic. These AI-generated or AI-edited images are increasin
gly being misused for fraud\, misinformation\, harassment\, and illegal ac
tivities. The objective of this problem statement is to design a system th
at can automatically detect whether an uploaded image is AI-generated or m
anipulated\, and take preventive action before it causes harm.<br />\n<br
 />\nUse Cases / Examples:<br />\n<br />\n1. Social Media Image Morphing:<b
r />\n<br />\nPeople are morphing or generating fake images of women or ac
tresses and uploading them on social media platforms. If this system is im
plemented\, the image can be verified during upload. If it is detected as
AI-generated\, the platform can block or restrict the upload\, helping to
protect privacy and prevent misuse.<br />\n<br />\n2. Food Delivery Refund
Fraud:<br />\n<br />\nOn food delivery platforms such as Swiggy and Zomat
o\, some users generate fake images of spoiled food using AI tools and upl
oad them to claim refunds fraudulently. An AI image detection system can i
dentify such fake images and prevent false refund claims.<br />\n<br />\n3
 . General Fraud and Illegal Activities:<br />\n<br />\nAI-generated images
can be used for fake documents\, misleading advertisements\, identity man
ipulation\, and other illegal activities. Detecting such images early help
s reduce fraud\, misinformation\, and social harm while promoting responsi
 ble AI usage.<br />\n<br />\n<br />\n<br />\nProblem Statement 2: Smart Cr
 owd Management System<br />\n<br />\nDescription:<br />\n<br />\nCrowd man
agement has become a major challenge in India\, especially during large pu
blic gatherings such as political meetings\, festivals\, railway stations\
, airports\, concerts\, and religious events etc. Poor crowd control often
leads to overcrowding\, stampedes\, injuries\, and loss of lives. The goa
l of this problem statement is to design an effective system that helps mo
nitor\, predict\, and manage crowd movement to improve public safety.<br /
 >\n<br />\nThis is a generic problem statement where participants can sele
ct any real-world location and propose a practical solution using software
 \, hardware\, IoT\, AI\, sensors\, cameras\, mobile applications\, or anal
ytics platforms.<br />\n<br />\nParticipants are encouraged to select any
location and design a solution that improves safety\, efficiency\, and eme
 rgency response.<br />\n<br />\n<br />\n<br />\nProblem Statement 3: Stude
 nt Innovation Challenge<br />\n<br />\nDescription:<br />\n<br />\nThis pr
oblem statement encourages students to present innovative ideas that solve
real-world problems. Participants are free to propose solutions in softwa
 re\, hardware\, embedded systems\, IoT\, AI\, robotics\, or hybrid technol
 ogies.<br />\n<br />\nAll innovative ideas with clear problem definition\,
  solution approach\, and impact are welcome.<br />\n<br />\n<br />\n<br />
 \nHackathon Structure<br />\nTotal Rounds: 2<br />\nRound 1 – Online Scr
eening and Idea Submission (Registration Free)<br />\nRound 2 – On Campu
s Final Round (Registration Fee: ₹1\,000 per team)<br />\nTotal Prize Po
 ol - 60\,000<br />\n<br />\nAwards and Schedule<br />\n1 spotlight awards
will be given in each problem category.<br />\nParticipation certificates
will be provided to all participants of Round 2.<br />\n<br />\nRound 1 Te
ntative Dates: 10/02/2026 to 12/02/2026.<br />\nDates and slots will be sh
ared with team leaders via email and WhatsApp.<br />\n<br />\nRound 2 Date
  : 20/02/2026<br />\nRound 2 Timing: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.<br />\nVenue for
Round 2: PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research\,Coimbatore<br /
 >\n<br />\nSnacks will be provided (No full meals).<br />\n<br />\nRules a
nd Guidelines<br />\nJudges' decision will be final and binding.<br />\nTe
ams must bring their own laptops and necessary hardware.<br />\nRules\, sc
hedules and other procedures will be shared with teams via WhatsApp and<br
  />\nemail after registration.</p>
