SUMMARY:Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics 2026
LOCATION:KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology\, Coimbatore
DESCRIPTION:<p>The Department of Mechanical Engineering\, KPR Institute of
Engineering and Technology (KPRIET)\, is organizing a technical workshop o
n “Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)” on 10 October 2
026.<br />\n<br />\nComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a powerful engin
eering simulation approach used to study and analyze the behavior of fluid
s and their interaction with engineering systems. It is widely applied in
areas such as fluid flow analysis\, heat transfer\, pressure distribution\
 , thermal systems\, aerodynamics\, turbomachinery\, automotive engineering
\, and industrial process design.<br />\n<br />\nThis workshop is designed
to introduce participants to the fundamentals and practical workflow of C
FD. The session will cover the basic principles of CFD\, governing equatio
ns\, mathematical modeling\, computational domain preparation\, meshing te
chniques\, boundary-condition setup\, and interpretation of simulation res
 ults.<br />\n<br />\nTopics Covered<br />\nIntroduction to CFD Principles
 – Understanding the fundamentals of computational fluid dynamics and its
engineering applications.<br />\nGoverning Equations and Modeling Basics
 – Introduction to the fundamental equations used to represent fluid-flow
problems and basic modeling concepts.<br />\nMeshing Techniques – Under
standing how computational domains are divided into elements/cells for num
erical analysis.<br />\nBoundary Conditions Setup – Learning how appropr
iate inlet\, outlet\, wall\, and other boundary conditions are defined for
CFD simulations.<br />\nFlow Visualization and Analysis – Understanding
how CFD results are visualized and interpreted using parameters such as v
 elocity\, pressure\, temperature\, and flow patterns.<br />\nSpeaker<br />
 \nDr. M. MakeshKumar<br />\nAssociate Professor<br />\nDepartment of Mecha
 nical Engineering<br />\nKPR Institute of Engineering and Technology<br />
 \n<br />\nThe workshop is open to:<br />\n<br />\nEngineering Students<br
 />\nFaculty Members<br />\nResearch Scholars<br />\nIndustry Professionals
 <br />\nParticipants interested in CFD\, fluid mechanics\, thermal enginee
ring\, simulation\, and engineering analysis can benefit from the workshop
 .<br />\n<br />\nRegistration Details<br />\nDate: 10 October 2026<br />\n
Mode: Offline<br />\nVenue: KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology\,
 Coimbatore<br />\n<br />\nInternal Participants: ₹200/-<br />\nExternal
Participants: ₹400/-<br />\n<br />\nNote: Food and refreshments are incl
uded in the registration fee for external participants only.<br />\n<br />

 >\nKey Takeaway<br />\nParticipants will gain a foundational understanding
of the CFD simulation workflow\, from understanding the governing physics
and preparing a computational model to meshing\, setting boundary conditi
ons\, and analyzing flow-visualization results. The workshop provides a st
arting point for students and professionals interested in developing furth
er skills in CFD and engineering simulation.<br />\n<br />\nStudent Coordi
nators<br />\nThe workshop is coordinated by student representatives from
the Department of Mechanical Engineering\, KPR Institute of Engineering an
d Technology. The student coordinators will assist participants with regis
 tration-related queries\, event coordination\, venue guidance\, participan
t communication\, and other on-site requirements throughout the programme.
