DESCRIPTION:<p>TILT ‘14 addresses the needs and issues related to ongoing
  professional development of language teachers\, practitioners and researc
 hers at all levels and contexts. It focuses on the question of what consti
 tutes the knowledge base of language teaching and how it relates to the pr
 ocesses and content of teacher education. This theme  includes research an
 d perspectives on teachers’ knowledge\, teacher learning in formal and i
 nformal contexts\;  teacher socialization\, professional development\, and
  the nature of disciplinary knowledge. The conference aims to bring togeth
 er teacher educators to discuss and share research\, theory\, and best pra
 ctices and to initiate and sustain a meaningful professional dialogue acro
 ss languages\, levels\, and settings. The conference is an outcome of the 
 National Conference held by the Department of English in the early 2014\, 
 where the participants expressed the need to educate the language teachers
  in the  unobservable dimension of teaching. This understanding is essenti
 al especially in teaching English in SL contexts.</p>
