Plasma science &\; technology can play an important role in providing technological solutions for environmental\, societal and indu strial issues. One major application is nuclear fusion\, as the ultimate source of energy. Some of the other fascinating applications are plasma m edicine\, lasers\, dielectric barrier discharges\, charged particle accele ration\, micro and Nano-electronics\, etc. As the application areas are g rowing\, the need for better understanding of plasma science\, related dia gnostic methods and associated technologies is also increasing.
