DESCRIPTION:<p>The Fourth National Symposium on Shock Waves (NSSW-4)\, an e
 vent in the series of NSSW initiated by the Society for Shock Wave Researc
 h (India)\, will be held during February 25-26\, 2016 at Karunya Institute
  of Technology and Sciences. The First symposium of the series was held at
  Bangalore in 2011\, second at Thanjavur in 2012 and third at Mumbai 2014.
  The Symposium will be an intellectual forum for Researchers\, Faculty Mem
 bers and Industry Professionals to exchange contemporary ideas and informa
 tion in the area of shock waves and their useful terrestrial applications.
  The area of research is active in India with the aerospace\, defense\, bi
 omedical\, chemical kinetic and commercial applications of shock waves bei
 ng pursued in several professional research laboratories and premier acade
 mic institutions. People with specialization of shock waves research are e
 ncouraged to participate in this symposium with an objective of disseminat
 ion/accretion of knowledge on shock waves and the allied phenomena.</p>
