SUMMARY:Five Days Short Term Course on Recent Trends in Cybersecurity and E
nergy Management (RTCEM) 2022
LOCATION:NIT Puducherry\, Karaikal
DESCRIPTION:
Major Contents
\n Techniques for cyber-attack vector
 formulation.
\n Anomaly detection techniques for cyberattacks.
\n Emergency Response system.
\n Tools for cybersecurity.
\n Cybersecurity aspects for Smart grid
\no Electric Vehicle
\no Smart substation
\no Industrial control system
\no Water
distribution networks
\n
\nEnergy management (EM) is the process
\nof tracking and optimizing energy consumption.
\nEffective im
plementation of EM demands mobility of
\ndata\, internet of things an
d distributed computing.
\nConsequently\, this led to rapid convergen
ce operational
\ntechnology of the physical process and informationte
chnology\, data processing and communication
\nnetworks. Given such c
onnectivity\, it is doubtful that
\ncritical physical system can reso
rt to logical isolation
\n(e.g.\, firewalls) completely to ensure the
ir
\ncybersecurity. This vulnerability is evidenced in recent
\n
incidents such as the 2015 Ukraine power grid attack.
\nThis short-te
rm course aims to stimulate the intensity
\nand need of Cyber Securit
y and EM in critical physical
\nsystems such as smart grids\, buildin
gs\, electric vehicle
\nand other ICS among the teachers\, research s
cholar\,
\nstudents\, and industry professionals.
