SUMMARY:ERUDITION 2019
LOCATION:Delhi School of Economics University of Delhi\, New Delhi
DESCRIPTION:
In its history spanning over three decades\, the Department
of Commerce has redefined commerce education in the country. The departmen
t has the legitimate claim and pride of being the premier institution in I
ndia for course curriculum development\, teaching and researches in Commer
ce discipline. This rapid growth of the Department of Commerce is reflecte
d in its expansion as well as novelty in its academic programmes. Formally
set up as a separate entity in 1967\, it has imbibed the DSE tradition of
exploring new frontiers of knowledge and innovation in academics. That ha
s led to the commencement of master level professional programmes\, in add
ition to the traditional M.Phil\, Ph.D and the flagship course of the Depa
rtment i.e. M.Com. programme. As a response to market imperatives\, the De
partment of Commerce initiated two new post-graduate professional programm
es in 1995\, namely\, Master of International Business (MIB) and Master of
Human Resource and Organizational Development (MHROD). These two programm
es have been restructured to MBA (International Business) and MBA (Human R
esource Development) with effect from 21st July 2014. These courses have m
ade a mark through teaching and research in all contemporary areas of Inte
rnational Business and Human Resource Management.
