Renewable Energy at the Service to Mankind
We cannot t hink of any activity that does not require energy. Hence it is aptly said that energy is life. It is the known fact that the conventionally availab le fuels sources are fast depleting and are scarce. Many Nations count on coal\, oil and natural gas to supply most of their energy needs. Most nati ons are highly reliant on fossil fuel for their growth. Eventually\, the w orld will run out of fossil fuels\, or it will become too expensive to ret rieve those that remain. Fossil fuels highly contribute to air\, water an d soil pollution\, and produce greenhouse gases leading to the global warm ing. Renewable Energy a sustainable provision of energy meets the needs of the present without compromising the scenario of future generations. Indi a is the first country in the world to set up a Ministry of New and Renewa ble Energy (MNRE)\, in early 1980s.The RE is green\, clean and sustainable .
Serious thought needs to be accorded to evaluate the economic comp etitiveness of all available energy sources in the background of three mai n parameters. These relate to an increasing gap between the demand and su pply of conventional power\, accompanying transmission and distribution lo sses and importantly\, the climate change process. Surely\, RE is poised f or a second big leap forward to lead towards sustained economic growth in the near future. The Seminar focuses on spreading awareness about the rece nt practices in the field of new and renewable energy. Also on recent prac tices in the field of renewable energy technologies that promote sustainab le energy including renewable energy sources like hydro electricity\, sola r energy\, wind energy\, wave power\, geothermal energy\, artificial photo synthesis\, biofuels\, tidal power\, etc. and also technologies designed t o improve the energy efficiency.
ABOUT THE CLUB
The Renewable Energy Club (REC) had its inception in 2006 with auspicious initiation of New &\; Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. (NREDCAP)\, Hyderabad. Since its inception Seminars\, Quiz\, Elocution c ompetitions on Renewable Energy are conducted to create interest among stu dents on renewable energy.
