Optimization techniques have been expanding in all directio ns at an astonishing rate during the last few decades. New algorithmic an d theoretical techniques have been developed\, the diffusion into other d isciplines has proceeded at a rapid pace\, and our knowledge of all aspe cts of the field has grown even more profound. Optimization technique has been a basic tool in all areas of applied mathematics\, engineering\, me dicine\, economics and other sciences. Moreover\, multiobjective optimiza tion is an area of multiple criteria decision making\, that is concerned with mathematical optimization problems involving more than one objective  function to be optimized simultaneously. This FDP will be addressing th e fundamental understanding on multiobjective optimization problems and al so study applications involving such problems. The programme also focuse s on TRIZ and its principles\, standard solutions applied to solve contra dictions in New Product Development.
