About Event
The number of distributed solar photovoltaic (PV) installations and wind energy systems are growing rapidly. As distributed PV and other renewable energy technologies mature, they can provide a significant share of our nation’s electricity demand. The way of controlling those RES are still updating with advanced controllers. Enormous successes have been achieved through the modeling of biological and natural intelligence, resulting in so-called “intelligent systems”. These intelligent algorithms include artificial neural networks, evolutionary computation, swarm intelligence, artificial immune systems, and fuzzy systems. Together with logic, deductive reasoning, expert systems, case-based reasoning and symbolic machine learning systems, these intelligent algorithms form part of the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). They can learn from examples, are fault tolerant in the sense that they are able to handle noisy and incomplete data, are able to deal with non linear problems, and once trained can perform prediction and generalization at high speed. Artificial intelligence systems have been used in diverse applications in control, robotics, pattern recognition, forecasting and mainly in power electronic systems for controlling the converters. They are particularly useful in generating reference signals to control the pulse signals of the converter switch. dSPACE is an advanced real time interface between the simulation worlds to the real world. A major hurdle in MPPT implementation will be easily overcome by this dSPACE interface. This workshop mainly emphasis on the design and implementation of advanced controlling methodology in the real world using MATLAB and dSPACE.
