OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP
\n To introduce participa nts to computer-aided design and manufacturing\, including modelling and s imulation contexts\, as well as to provide hands-on-training in computer-a ided manufacturing software.
\n To train the participants in the b asics of CNC programming and machining techniques.
\n To demonstra te the working and critics of material removal process in CNC Vertical Mac hining Centre.
\nCOURSE CONTENTS
\n Brief review on the varia nts of CNC machines and its coordinate systems including machining paramet ers and cutting tool strategies.
\n Comprehend the concepts of axi s nomenclature and workpiece clamping systems used in CNC milling operatio ns.
\n Introduction to computer aided design and manufacturing\, i ncluding the fundamentals of modelling and simulation.
\n Overview on cutting tool nomenclature and criteria's to be considered in process p arameter selection with live demonstration on tool path verification strat egies.
\n Insights on CNC programing for basic milling operations including canned cycles and compensations for tool radius\, length\, offse t\, and wear rate.
\n Brief on the selection of nominal process pa rameters and its correlation with chip formation\, surface finish\, temper ature distribution\, cutting force and tool wear.
\n Live monitori ng and real-time data interpolation of cutting force and tool wear using c omputer interface systems.
\nSESSION HIGHLIGHTS
\n A brief ov erview on the basics of process parameter selection with live demonstratio n using dynamometer illustrating the correlation between cutting force and process parameters.
\n Insights on temperature distribution strat egies with live demonstration using thermal imager.
\n Technology overview on the application of machine vision systems and its use in monit oring tool wear.

\nRegistration fee for S tudents and Research Scholars: Rs. 1\,200/- (inclusive of service tax)
