The advent of process computers meant that algorithms that c ould not be realized using analog technology could now be applied PID cont roller\, advanced control schemes\, soft computing methods and optimal con trol philosophies became racticable alternatives. Indeed\, the modern day proliferation of so called advanced control methodologies can only be attr ibuted to the advances made in the process industry\, especially in the de velopment of low cost digital computational devices. Nowadays\, advanced c ontrol is synonymous with the implementation of computer based technologie s. It has been recently reported that advanced control techniques can impr ove product yield\, reduce energy consumption\, increase capacity\, improv e product quality and consistency\, improved process safety and reduce env ironmental emissions.
This seminar is intended to provide a forum fo
