The land of the seven sisters\, a sobriquet coined by Jyoti
Prasad Saika in 1972\, refers to the seven states comprising the north-eas
tern part of the country. A land that accounts for 7% of India's total are
a and 4% of its population\, is\,sadly\, demanding recognition from its ow
n people.
\n We\, at PGDAV College\, have decided to make it the them
e of our annual fest- AAGHAZ\, to show that we recognize\, we support and
we protest.
Known as 'paradise unexplored' \, India's seven sisters
are popularly known for their origin in the foothills of the Himalayas\, m
agnificent valleys\, exotic flora and fauna\, and ethnic and religious div
ersity.
\n Assam\, the gateway\, is known for national parks\, river
islands\, tea gardens and temples.
