DESCRIPTION:<p>This seminar focuses on facilitating the student and facult
 ies to gain knowledge in quality of power in renewable energy systems in
  both grid connected and standalone systems.<br />\nThere are many renewa
 ble energy sources such as biomass\, solar\, wind\, mini-hydro and tidal
  power. Power electronics finds applications in most RES technologies\, 
 solar and wind energy<br />\nsystems being the most important applications
 . This seminar with training has been designed to cover topics related t
 o the design of alternative energy based systems with less power quality
  issues.<br />\nThe main objective of this training is to focus on the m
 easuring and mitigation of power quality issues using power quality analy
 zer. The output of many renewable generators like  photovoltaic cells\, 
 fuel cells\, etc. is variable dc\, which requires a dc/ac conversion stag
 e for grid and standalone systems. For other renewable generators with v
 ariable ac output\, like wind or sea-wave generators\, one can at first 
 convert the variable ac to dc and then do dc-ac conversion to connect to 
 the utility line or use a direct ac-ac conversion. </p>
