About Event

BIOYANTRA is a national level technical fest conducted by department of biomedical engineering.We live in an age that discovers new and varied health problems almost daily. That being said, we also know that the general longevity of the common man hasn’t been higher in the history of our existence. This calls for the betterment of how we perceive healthcare services. And it is exactly the perception that we as prospective future biomedical engineers aim to deliver. We are intent to do this through what we assure will be India's biggest biomedical event yet.

Like a tripod, the main goals BIOYANTRA seeks to achieve are it's three legged approach to a better biomedical experience:-
• Brings academics, Hospitals and Industrial biomedical engineering communities together.
• Connects and gives real world opportunities to budding engineers.
• Promotes and supports educational opportunities in product design, innovation and
entrepreneurship.

BIOYANTRA’15 is the seventh edition from its inception.It aims to provide a base to students to understand the industry better and have an up to date knowledge with the instruments as well as the equipment used in current biomedical industry. It provides a platform for companies to showcase their state of the art equipment
and interact with other companies to create a better health care system in this ever growing biomedical sphere.

Workshops

Plenitude of workshops are organised at Bioyantra to provide students an opportunity to interact with eminent personalities in the field of medical technology.

MEDPROVOC'15

As part of Bioyantra this year, we are organizing a contest, first of it’s kind in field of bioengineering.

Contest covers -

BIOSENSORS,BIOMATERIALS,INSTRUMENTATON,PROGRAMMING
AND SOFTWARE , etc. as part of this year’s edition.

The main objective of this contest is to provide a common platform
for the participants to test their mettle against each other at national level.

UNCONFERENCE

Bioyantra’15 is not just about innovation and technology but about implanting
ideas and transforming them to a product. Bioyantra is hosting an Unconference – a platform for students to interact with industrialists ,clinicians ,technologists and researchers who made it big in their field.

The Unconference aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the
biomedical industry and its future demands and the right amount of motivation to
perceive their dreams to excel in field of medical engineering.

PRESENTATION

Presentation tests the participant’s capacity to come up with new ideas and present them in a creative manner.The main skills being honed include confidence, attitude, communication skills and creativity.
It provides a platform to showcase the understanding of not just technical topics
but also international and national issues.

EXHIBITIONS

Exhibitions are mediums to showcase the innovative technology and inventions
that could potentially revolutionize the world as we know today. The exhibits held in Bioyantra display a range of gadgets, machinery, models etc.

How to reach SRM University Kattankulathur Campus, Chennai

Visiting SRM

The SRM University Main Campus (Kattankulathur) is 40 kms from Chennai city on NH 45, and around 20 kms from Chennai Airport. The nearest Bus stop and Railway station is Potheri. The University is well connected by road, rail and air.

HOW TO REACH SRM UNIVERSITY (Kattankulathur Campus)
By Rail
Those coming from other states of India by train, should get down at the Chennai Central Station, come out and cross the high road through the pedestrian subway and reach 'Park' suburban metro rail station. Two destination trains are available from Park suburban metro rail station - to (i) Tambaram (TBM) (ii) Chengalpattu (CGL).

(i) If you take the train to Tambaram, then get down at Tambaram and reach the local bus stand there. Take T60 or T60 LSS bus and get down at SRM or Potheri stop. It is a 20 minute travel from Tambaram to reach SRM University. (Total Travel time from Chennai Central Railway Station will be around One Hour).

(ii) If you take the train to Chengalpattu, you can directly reach Potheri railway station. SRM University is just opposite to Potheri railway station.

By Air
The nearest railway station from the Chennai Airport is Thrisulam, located just opposite the Airport. Get on a train towards Tambaram and follow the instructions given in the 'By Rail' section above for reaching SRM University.

Shuttle bus service is available from SRM University main gate to commute around the university.

The University is situated in three different serene, green landscaped campuses.

The Kattankulathur Campus
This main campus is at Kattankulathur in Kancheepuram District, a suburb of Chennai City on the G.S.T. Road (Chennai - Trichy National Highway, NH 45), 20 kms from Chennai Airport.
