Venue: The AerotriX Center, Bangalore Date: 15 April'13 to 23 April'13 Duration: 3 hours on all days Certification: Participation Certificates would be provided to all participants by AerotriX Registration (All costs are for individuals): Mode of Payment Price Pay now Net banking/Credit Card/ Debit Card/Cash Pickup 2490 1500 Through DD 2490 Click here All the models made by the participants are take away. Course Benefits Understand the science behind flying vehicles in the simplest way possible Experience the fun of basic aeromodelling by getting your hands dirty! Build the entire models on your own under the guidance of our expert team Hands-on experience gained by the students will help them in developing good science projects Competition at the end of each module to help students participate effectively Good multimedia content to help students grasp the content easily Content developed and delivered by IITians Course Structure The course consists of the following modules: Chuck glider Powered glider Boomerang Water Rocketry Each module is split into the following session Lecture Hands-on Competition 1) Chuck Glider Chuck gliders are the easiest and the most economic way to learn about an aircraft. This module will include a lecture on the principles of flight explained with the help of basic concepts in science which is suitable for students of all groups. The participants are then guided to build a chuck glider with a specially designed kit which will help them understand the theory in a better way thereby giving a complete learning experience. Suggestions on how to make their glider efficient and ensure a long flight will also be a part of the session. The participants will be introduced to the precautions of aeromodelling and the techniques to launch a glider. 2) Powered Glider This module will be an extension of the 'Chuck Glider' session in which the students build an advanced version of the glider. The lecture session will help the students understand the importance of engines in an aircraft. The students will build a rubber band powered glider in the hands-on session and compete with each other at the end to test which model can cover the maximum distance and stay in the air for a longer duration. 3) Boomerang Its time to let the inner 'mowgli' within you where the participants will be making a boomerang on their own after understanding the physics behind the boomerang flight. The hands-on session will introduce the participants to different topics on how to ensure a long and efficient flight of the boomerang. The competition at the end will judge the students based on how effectively their boomerang can come back to them. A Video of a boomerang made by the participants in our workshop 4) Water Rocketry Learn about rockets and their propulsion in an interesting and exciting way by building a water propelled rocket. The lecture would put forward the concepts about rocket flight in a simple manner so that the participants can design and construct their own rockets from scratch. The competition at the will involve the participants firing their rockets from a launch pad to hit the target accurately. Awards: The following awards would be announced at the end of each module. The same would be published at www.aerotrix.com/participant-awards Best Design Award Best Fabrication Award Certification: Certificate of Merit is provided to the award recipients in the above mentioned categories. Kit Contents: Hardware · Kit required to build all individual models · Working tools #Working tools will be taken back after the workhsop Other Material · Booklet on design and construction of all models Write to us at info@aerotrix.com for further queries or information Follow us at www.facebook.com/aerotrix
